  Dr. Yan Zhang is Principal Investigator and professor of Glycobiology & Glycomics Lab,and the director of SCSB(China)-AIST(Japan) Joint Medical Glycomics Laboratory at Shanghai Center for Systems Biomedicine. She has been awarded Shanghai Pujiang Research Fellowship in 2007.
Professor Zhang’s research interests include O-glycosylation of proteins and tumors glycobiology or glycoproteomics.
Her lab’s research aims to understand the roles of O-glycan transferase (ppGalNAc-T) and O-glycosylated protein play in physiological and pathological processes, and exploiting this information for development of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for human disease. Now she is the committee member of the Committee of Glycoconjugates of Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the member of the Chinese Protein Society, and the member of Asian Communications of Glycobiology and Glycotechnology (ACGG).
